Digital TV is already amongst us and by 2012 all TV signals will turn to digital. If your current aerial is quite old, then you may have problems picking up a digital signal. If you do get a signal, and the quality is extremely poor, then you will need a new digital aerial in order to receive a quality reception.

The current situation

The current analogue signal has been in place now for the past 70 years. With terrestrial TV constantly advancing and creeping into our homes, digital TV seems the sensible option for the future. How do I know if I need a new aerial?

1. First check you’re in a digital TV area. To do this, simply

* Log on to www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/coverage.html or
* Text your postcode to 83331 or
* Visit our store where our staff will be more than happy to hep you

2. Purchase your new digital product and install it using the manufacturer’s instructions. If you experience any of the following problems:

* Picture freezing
* Reduced number of channels

Then the aerial is not suitable and is likely to require upgrading.
